Be Unique! Be Awesome with Vawsum!

Be Unique! Be Awesome with Vawsum!

It was almost surreal to see this man, whose net worth was about $10 billion back then in 2004, earnestly asking the team, “So what will my company become in the future?” Even way back then, when many people in China didn’t even understand what the internet was, he saw his company becoming a global powerhouse. Now with a total net worth of USD 39.2 billion, this man is the richest man in China and his brand is worth more than Facebook, and processes goods more than eBay and Amazon combined!

Yes, we are talking about Jack Ma, the founder of the E-commerce giant Alibaba and a stakeholder at Alipay, it’s a sister company which is an e-payment portal. 14 years after making his first speech, Jack Ma, offered heavy doses of rags-to-riches inspiration and exhortations in Davos, Switzerland. In Davos, he spoke openly and at length about some of the key challenges facing the world, delivering a stream of perspectives and guidance. This is what he had to say.

On the impact of technology

“We are very lucky because the world is in a big transformation because of technology. This new technology will create a lot of successful people, and interesting careers but honestly, every new technology will create social problems. “If we don’t align together, human beings are going to fight each other, because each technology revolution makes the world unbalanced.”

On women in business

“If you want your company to be successful; if you want your company to operate with wisdom, with care, then women are the best.“37% of senior management in Alibaba are women. Part of the ‘secret sauce’ of our success is because we have so many women colleagues.”

“I think globalization cannot be stopped – no one can stop globalization, no one can stop the trade. If trade stops, the world stops. Trade is the way to dissolve the war not cause war. “Global trade must be simple and modernized; it must be inclusive so everyone has the same opportunity. The next generation of globalization must be inclusive.”

“Learn from your mistakes – no matter how smart you are you will learn from them. We must share our mistakes with others. “My thinking is that – if you want to be successful, learn from other peoples’ mistakes, don’t learn from success stories. The book I want to write is “Alibaba: 1,001 Mistakes“.

“You don’t need to know a lot of things, but you need to find the people who are smarter than you are. My job is to make sure smart people are working together. “The best way to promote your company is through your product or services, or employees.”

“A teacher should learn all the time; a teacher should share all the time. Education is a big challenge now – if we do not change the way we teach thirty years later we will be in trouble. “We cannot teach our kids to compete with the machines who are smarter – we have to teach our kids something unique. In this way, 30 years later, kids will have a chance.”

“To gain success a person will need high EQ; if you don’t want to lose quickly you will need a high IQ, and if you want to be respected you need high LQ – the IQ of love.”

Isn’t this so true? Machines would always be smarter and capable of multitasking. But they can never resemble a human. The machine can never be as wise as a human. There can be a lot of similar machines in the market but what separates a human being from a machine is the fact that EVERY human being is unique, unlike the machines. In this world filled with “TRENDY” machines, Human beings would always remain the “CLASSIC”.

Now the question that arises is, how can one inculcate the uniqueness that is stored within them? The answer lies at the grassroots level because how someone is educated (not “what” someone is educated), defines how he/she educates. The way he/she is educated should help him/her to realize and inculcate his/her uniqueness and only then can he/she have a chance in the next 30 years. (As said by MR.MA)And how do we do this? This can only be done when a parent and a teacher work hand in hand to help a child inculcate the uniqueness that is stored in them.

The call of the hour is not Parent-Teacher Involvement procedures in the progress of the child but the call of the hour is Parent-teacher Engagement as only then can the parent be a part of the decision-making when the child is concerned. And what better way to do this than to use VAWSUM. VAWSUM is a parent-teacher engagement app that enables teachers to send instant pictures to their parents. VAWSUM also enhances the Engagement between a parent and a teacher. Now, for example, Ravi studied in St. Augustine’s School. His parents didn’t allow him to play the violin. One day his Teacher in school saw that he was playing the violin melodiously. He clicked the picture and sent it to Ravi’s parents via the VAWSUM app. His parents were overjoyed to hear him play. Today, Ravi is one of the best violin players in town.

When interviewed, he told, “Had it not been for VAWSUM, I would have never understood my unique talent. “There are many more such instances where VAWSUM has helped a student inculcate the hidden uniqueness that is in store within them. From hidden debating talents to academic excellence, from sports to singing, from achievements to exposures – VAWSUM provides a digital platform to each and every student, and this helps each and every child to realise and work on the hidden talents and jump unique to UNIQUE. It is only when we plant a seed today that can we have a tree tomorrow and fruits the day after. But even the best of seeds can be trampled if the soil is not good, and even the worst of seeds can grow properly if the soil is nourished.

And yes, you cannot expect a mango tree to give you an apple fruit, isn’t it? Same way, plant the seed of your child’s life in the soil named VAWSUM. More than 350 schools have already done that and this has helped them yield wonderful fruits. It’s time that you too should do the same and help your child yield the fruits of his/her uniqueness. And yes, in VAWSUM, we help you in believing in yourself, be persistent in the face of adversity and make use of each and every opportunity in order to inculcate the hidden uniqueness that is in store within you such that in years to come, you all will have a chance.
